'At a glance' Summary

Version 10.1 continues our drive towards improved performance, and is probably about 10% faster overall than Version 10.

Version 10.1 introduced a new header syntax for defined functions that automatically assigns the elements of a vector argument to local names, and automatically collects the elements of a vector result.

Version 10.1 includes some major improvements for multi-threading, including a completely new thread synchronisation scheme and much-improved facilities for debugging threads .

Version 10.1 provides some new tools for the developer, including

arrow A comprehensive Event Viewer tool, modelled on the Windows spy program. This allows you to monitor events as they are generated by GUI objects and is of great assistance when debugging GUI applications.
arrow Value Tips . Just hover the mouse over a variable or function name, and you get a pop-up scrollable window that displays the contents of the variable or the function code.
arrow Improvements to the Auto Completion feature, including the ability to customize Auto-Completion keys and auto-completion for workspace names when typing )LOAD etc.
arrow Syntax colouring improvements. You can now associate hot-keys with different syntax colouring schemes. This allows you to toggle between different coloured views of the function you are editing so that you can quickly identify specific language elements in your code.

Version 10.1 now fully supports XP Look and Feel both for the APL Session itself and for your own .exe applications. This means that special XP colour schemes, chosen by the end-user, are honoured by the APL session and in your own applications.

The Grid object now supports a tree-view feature that allows you to display rows in a hierarchical fashion. The user can open and close nodes of the tree to display or hide subordinate rows. A number of other enhancements have also been added.
