I am an international delegate, why do I need to pay VAT?Conferences that take place in the U.K. are liable for U.K. VAT as they are classified under VAT legislation as "services supplied where performed" and, therefore, the VAT of the country hosting the conference must be charged. Overseas delegates must pay the VAT charged on their invoice initially but can, potentially, reclaim this back from the U.K. VAT office. For information on reclaiming VAT see HMRC Reference: Notice 723A (October 2012) "Refunds of VAT in the European Community for EC and non-EC businesses" which can be obtained directly from www.hmrc.gov.uk 
or downloaded as a pdf.
A 10% Early Bird Discount (EBD) applies to delegate packages booked before the cut-off date (12 July 2024 23:59:59 UTC) – this does not apply to any additional accommodation requirements, the closing dinner, or the spouse packages.
Package Prices
All packages (delegate package, spouse package 1, and spouse package 2) include accommodation, with dinner and breakfast for each night stayed. In addition:
- Delegate Package includes: all presentations, user meeting promotional merchandise, refreshments during breaks, and lunch every day
- Spouse Package 1 includes: refreshments during breaks and lunch every day
Dinner on Wednesday is the closing dinner – this is only included in packages that include accommodation on Wednesday night.
