Welcome to the DYALOGue eNews Summer 2014 edition
Dear Colleague,
As I write this editorial, I am – literally – on my way to host the next Dyalog seminar in the USA. The seminar takes place on 17th July, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Conrad Hilton, 102 North End Avenue, New York, New York 10282.
All our US based customers have received direct e-mail invitations, but not everyone may have noticed that the seminar requires pre-registration. However, there is still time to sign up for attendance. The event is free of charge, so please confirm your intent to participate to rsvp@dyalog.com. If you wish to review the programme for the seminar, please click here.
I want to share with you what an amazing spring we have had in Dyalog Ltd. We have managed to meet a number of significant milestones we set for ourselves, and this is certainly reflected in this edition of Dyalogue.
- We released Dyalog version 14.0 commercially on all platforms on 30th June 2014.
- We have completed and launched our new website – also on 30th June 2014. The 6th annual programming contest was launched on 30th May and as of 9th July we have an amazing 710 registrations for the challenge. There is still time to sign up and participate as the deadline for submission is not until 8th August. Are you up for the challenge? Then give it a go.
- The Registration system for Dyalog '14, our annual user meeting that takes place this year from 21st to 25th September (both days inclusive) in Eastbourne on the South Coast of England, went live on 9th June 2014. I strongly encourage you to take advantage of the Early Bird discount and register before Early Bird expires on 21st July 23:59 UTC.
- We have a new social media communications strategy in place and a rolling plan to make sure we post to relevant platforms and forums on a regular basis.
In this edition of the newsletter you will also find an article on Riskflow and the financial app they presented at Dyalog '13.
We also have a comprehensive case study which you can download in PDF or read online on Volvo's Hercules project – Migrating an APL2 Mainframe application to Dyalog APL Window Server.
I've almost lost my breath now, but I want to take this opportunity to thank the Dyalog team as this whirlwind of achievements and meeting of deadlines is obviously the result of us having "all hands on deck".
I am now looking forward to a well-deserved summer break before we kick off with the final details for the user meeting in September. I wish you all a lovely summer and look forward to seeing you in Eastbourne in September.
Enjoy your reading!
