The Orchard Group offers an apprenticeship scheme.

Successful applicants study and work alongside our associates, learning array programming, agile development and how to succeed as independent software developers.

The Orchard Group does not employ its apprentices but supports them in securing paid work suited to their ability and experience, usually alongside associates.

Independence is a seed planted early and deep.

Gilgamesh Athoraya learned programming at school in Sweden but rejected it as a career, not caring to spend his working life converting program specifications into source code.

After seeing his first APL programs he quit his job to apprentice himself to Stephen Taylor.

He now operates his own services company and is completing his MSc thesis with another Orchard Group associate.
